Summary of the Special Session of the Minnesota Legislature; pdf
DEAR FRIENDS, Yesterday we began the special session to solve the budget
impasse and end the shut down. We worked throughout Tuesday afternoon, into the
wee hours Wednesday and passed a dozen bills which are now in front of Governor
Dayton for his signature. I will write a little more about each bill tomorrow after I
get some rest, but I have included the links to the Senate and House pages where
all of the bills and their summaries are
listed. http://www.house.leg.state.mn.us/ss2011/ http://www.senate.leg.state.mn.us/2011_first_special_session_bills/index.php Although the solution was not a perfect one, it does
achieve and end to the budget impasse and opens up the state up
again.
SENATOR MIKE JUNGBAUER’S POST SESSION UPDATE TUESDAY
7/19/11 DEAR FRIENDS, Here is the latest from the Capitol.
The Governor has called a special session of the Legislature for
3pm today. You can read the proclamation attached to this email. As of this writing six bills are posted online and I expect the
K-12 Education bill to go up soon. There is a new link on the MN Senate Home
Page that reads “2011 Special Session Budget Bills”. Clicking on that link will
take you to the page with the bills that are presently
online. http://www.senate.mn/2011_first_special_session_bills/index.php We go into caucus to discuss the individual bills in about a half
hour. That is all the new
information I have for now. From the language in the Governor’s proclamation the session should
be relatively brief and to the point. I
always welcome your comments and thank you for your
support. Mike Jungbauer Minnesota State Senator Senate District 48 Rm. 235, State Capitol 75 Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. St. Paul, MN 55155 Office: (651) 296-3733 Mobile: 612-490-3142 Fax: (651) 296-4239 sen.michael.jungbauer@senate.mn
